About the Artist

Based in Dubbo, Scott Feringa is an artist who specializes in painting and drawing. While he has a particular interest in the human form and portraiture, his work also explores the genres of still life and landscape. Scott works primarily with oil paints, charcoal, and graphite pencils, using these mediums to pursue realism and capture the essence of his subjects through careful attention to light, shadow, and detail.

Scott aims to create a sense of depth and presence in all his pieces, whether he's developing an oil portrait, a detailed landscape, a thoughtfully composed still life, a charcoal figure study, or a delicate pencil drawing. His figurative work often shows an appreciation for classical approaches, focusing on anatomical accuracy and a considered understanding of his subjects.

His work has received recognition, including a feature in Art/Edit Magazine in 2020. In 2022, he was awarded 4th place in the figurative category of the American Art Awards, which saw entries from 69 countries. Scott also exhibits his art regularly in Dubbo and beyond.

Scott is dedicated to his art practice, and his commissioned pieces have been acquired by collectors internationally.
